Mount Merapi’s Youngest Victims
The 26th of October marked the first of devastating series for the people living near Mount Merapi. Residents living 15 kilometers from the site began to be evacuated one by one as volcanic ash began to burst out of it’s brow. This fire mountain remains one of the most dangerous and active volcanoes out there. 60 people have died while tens of thousands of men, women, and young children alike have only the shelter homes to take refuge in as their homes and livestock are likely already buried beneath the ash. Trauma has touched the lives of each and every one of these citizens, but children to this day remain prone to the most life-changing trauma.

CITIZEN JOURNALISM PUT MERAPI ON THE MAP
We think the website, consisting of current news pertaining to the current Merapi incidents, is immensely informative. It gives out at least one article every day concerning the West Sumatra volcano. The developer of this website works together with various community organizations such as radio stations/companies that are in the Jogjakarta region, ie. Radio Lintas Merapi & Radio K FM. This working together allows the website to showcase the best in terms of quantitative as well as qualitative news.

REMEMBERING OUR CODE OF ETHICS
Setiap profesi membutuhkan pengetahuan khusus dan aturan yang membuat pekerjaan tersebut menjadi lebih berkualitas. Begitu juga dengan pekerjaan sebagai wartawan yang harus mendalami pengetahuan jurnalistik dan memahami kode etik nya.
Etika pada Jurnalistik adalah standar aturan perilaku dan moral, yang mengikat para jurnalis dalam menyuguhkan berita kepada masyarakat luas. Selain memang untuk memelihara kualitas pekerjaan sebaga jurnalis, tujuan lainnya adalah untuk mencegah adanya dampak yang merugikan orang banyak.

SMOLDERING VAMPIRES
The two leading men from the hit show, Vampire Diaries, have displayed their best smoldering looks for the newest issue of Vanity Fair Italia. TELEVISION SHOWS WE LOVE ( and why you should too!)
1. Vampire Diaries: It’s the second season and it’s undoubtedly the year of the Kat. Katherine is back, and we cannot wait to find out the kinds of bloody predicaments she creates this season! So far, she’s already caused Caroline to become a vampire and heated things even more between Stefan and Damon. Another issue that comes up this season is the introduction of werewolves in Mystic Falls. Tyler’s uncle, Mason, comes to town and uncovers everyone’s worst nightmares. As for the couples, Stefan and Elena seem to be going strong, but Caroline and Matt have totally been torn apart due to her new state of being a Vampire! L This drama has so many ups and downs, plus the mysteries just seem to get thicker and thicker!

Banyak jalan menuju Cina. Begitulah pepatah yang sering kita dengar ketika ingin meraih suatu tujuan. Arti dari pepatah itu adalah banyak cara yang bisa dilakukan untuk mewujudkan cita-cita, harapan dan apapun yang kita inginkan.
Setiap orang mempunyai tujuan dan keinginannya tersendiri dalam hidupnya. Namun apakah semua tujuan harus selalu berhubungan dengan diri kita sendiri?
Seperti yang dikutip dari perkataan Palmira, seorang mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran gigi, Universitas Indonesia, mengatakan bahwa “Aku ingin menjadi orang sukses dan sukses bagiku adalah ketika aku bisa berguna bagi banyak orang”.
Berikut ini adalah profile mengenai tiga dari beribu-ribu Mahasiswa yang telah menyadari bahwa tujuan hidup yang sesungguhnya adalah ketika bisa berguna bagi orang banyak. Dan sebagaimana telah disebutkan sebelumnya bahwa banyak jalan menuju Cina, maka mereka memilih jalan sebagai ‘Duta’ dalam berbagai bidang yang berbeda untuk mewujudkan tujuan mereka.

3. 70’s inspired long hair: Want to show off those gorgeous voluminous locks of yours? Simply opt for this look, you leave it and go. While last season it was all about the bob, long and voluminous hair is coming back with a vengeance. Like Michael Kors would say, “a long main of healthy locks is the ultimate glamour accessory”.
